Professional tire mounting, installation, and balancing is critical to help ensure optimum tire life and overall vehicle safety.
Tire repairs have been a basic component of a tire dealer’s business ever since the beginning of the tire industry. Car owners could count on making a tire repair on nearly every drive they took in the 1890s because tires weren’t sophisticated. In those days, the repairs were made by the car owner, for the most part.
Tire rotation, that is routinely repositioning your vehicle’s tires in specific patterns from front to back or side to side, is an important element of tire upkeep and safety. Additionally, rotating your tires may also be required to keep your tires covered under warranty. For a quick visual summary of tire rotation, information about what tire rotation is, why tire rotation patterns matter, and the correct pattern for your vehicle’s needs.
Next up is balancing the wheel and tire assembly. A machine is used to spin the assembly and detect any heavy spots. The high-tech balancing machine will stop the wheel from spinning at the exact spot where weights will need to be added to balance out the rotating assembly. This process continues until each wheel and tire are balanced – as any wheel imbalance can cause a bumpy ride, rapid tire wear, and possibly cause accelerated wear to suspension and drivetrain components.
